Hosting and server log files

This website is delivered via Amazon Web Services (AWS) using Amazon S3 and the content delivery network Amazon CloudFront. The provider is Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg. When you access the website, AWS processes technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, requested file, referrer, browser and operating system in order to deliver and secure the site.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest lies in a secure, fast and stable provision of the website. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with AWS. CloudFront may also deliver content via servers outside the EU. For transfers to the USA, Amazon Web Services, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; EU standard contractual clauses apply in addition.

I do not enable access logging myself and do not analyse log files.

Cookies, tracking and third-party content

This website does not set cookies, does not store any information on your device, does not use analytics or tracking tools and does not load any third-party content such as fonts or scripts.

Contact by email or phone

If you contact me by email or phone, I process your details (e.g. name, contact details, content of the enquiry) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I delete the data as soon as it is no longer required for this purpose and no statutory retention obligations apply.

For email I use Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online). The provider is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland. A data processing agreement is in place with Microsoft. For transfers to the USA, Microsoft Corporation is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; EU standard contractual clauses apply in addition.

Profile downloads

The profiles offered as PDF are delivered via AWS like all other files of this website. No additional data is collected.

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

You are not obliged to provide your data. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
